Visa on arrival costs, documents, and how to extend your stay without stress.

Most international travelers can get a Nepal tourist visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport or major land borders.

Visa fees (USD cash)

  • 15 days — $30
  • 30 days — $50
  • 90 days — $125

Bring a passport valid for at least 6 months, one passport photo, and an accommodation address. Completing the online form before arrival saves significant queue time.

Extensions

Extend at Immigration offices in Kathmandu or Pokhara. Early extensions are typically around $3/day, then $5/day. Maximum stay is 150 days per calendar year — never overstay.

Indian citizens do not need a tourist visa for Nepal.
